Silverlite. An aluminium and polypropylene sandwich, this gives very light and stiff covers, but there is a very special property that we can add. We can rout a hinge. This achieves an extraordinary accurate, none bulky hinge that is part of the cover material. Needless to say this hi-tech material and approach is not as economic to make as our duotech binders, but for something special, it is a winner.
Silverlite hinge detail. Here is an ultra close-up of the hinge (it is the line to the right of the inter screw top).
Even though the real life inter screw is bright and shiny, in our ultra close its surface appears uneven. Compare that to the routed line to its right. Smooth heh? We have worked very hard to make sure our routing leaves no burrs. So good is the finish that the spine (to the left of the inter screw) barely shows at all, even under magnification.
